FiveM & GTA RPFiveM Enhanced: running your server on the GTA V Enhanced build
FiveM Enhanced, the FiveM build for GTA V Enhanced: what changes, player requirements, how to enable it on your server, how to roll back to Legacy and the early-access limits.
FiveM Enhanced is the FiveM build aimed at GTA V Enhanced, the next-gen version of the game on PC. Released in early access on 21 July 2026 by Cfx.re, it runs your server on a DirectX 12 engine with native ray tracing, DLSS and FSR 3, a modern .NET runtime and faster synchronisation. This guide covers what changes, how to run an Enhanced server at LordHosting, and how to roll back.
⚙️ Requirements
- A LordHosting FiveM server - every plan accepts Legacy as well as Enhanced, see the plans
- GTA V Enhanced on PC for every player who will join the server
- The FiveM for GTA V Enhanced client, separate from the classic FiveM client
- A valid Keymaster key - see getting your Keymaster key
Cfx.re ships Enhanced as early access: bugs, crashes and frequent changes come with it, and no stability is guaranteed. For an RP server already open to players, keep production on Legacy and spin up a second Enhanced server for testing.
⚙️ 1. What changes on the server side
The server binary becomes Cfx Server: the executable is cfx-server.exe instead of FXServer.exe, and the archives are cfx-server_win_x64 and cfx-server-linux_x64. The runtime moves from Mono to .NET, so C# resources must be recompiled. Lua resources, on the other hand, have nothing to declare: lua54 is deprecated and every script already runs on 5.4.
The technical gains are real: the sync rate is set with sv_syncTickRate, from 1 to 120 Hz (60 by default), peer-to-peer synchronisation gives way to a server-authoritative model, and DirectX 12 rendering brings ray tracing, DLSS with frame generation and FSR 3 without any external injector. State bag behaviour changes too: callbacks only fire if the entity exists.
The trade-off: Pure Mode is now always enabled and can no longer be turned off, and while Enhanced is in early access client-side graphical mods (ReShade, RTX-V) cannot be used. Another structural change: OneSync big is the only mode available, non-big mode has been removed.
⚙️ 2. Player side: a separate client
A player cannot join an Enhanced server with their usual FiveM client. They need:
- GTA V Enhanced installed and launched at least once
- The FiveM for GTAV Enhanced client, downloaded from the official Cfx.re site
- Your server's connection address, or its entry in the public list - see listing your FiveM server
Warn your community before switching: a player still on the Legacy client will not see your Enhanced server in their list.
⚙️ 3. Enabling Enhanced on your LordHosting server
The switch is requested from support, through your client area or our Discord. We install the Cfx Server binaries on your instance and reinstall the server environment; your resource files and database are not deleted, but back them up before the operation.
While Enhanced is in early access, the safest path is to leave your RP server on Legacy and open a second Enhanced instance for testing. Your players keep playing while you port your resources.
⚙️ 4. Adapting server.cfg
The file structure does not change - ensure lines, convars and sv_licenseKey stay identical, see the server.cfg guide. Two points deserve attention:
sv_licenseKey "cfx_live_your_key"
sv_hostname "My RP server - Enhanced"
sv_maxclients 48
# Tick rate for the sync thread: 60 by default, range 1 to 120
set sv_syncTickRate 60
sv_syncTickRate replaces sv_useAccurateSends, which is deprecated. Raise the value gradually: the higher it is, the lower the latency and the higher the CPU use, and the gain is only noticeable on servers with many moving vehicles.
Take the chance to clean the file: onesync_automaticResend and sv_netHttp2 have been removed, and sv_enhancedHostSupport and onesync_enableBeyond only remain for backward compatibility, with no effect at all.
⚙️ 5. Checking the server really runs Enhanced
On startup, the console reports the build and platform. Check three things:
- the executable actually running is
cfx-server, notFXServer - the list of loaded resources shows no escrow error
- an Enhanced client connects, a Legacy client does not
If a resource refuses to start, the console names the offending file: that is where porting begins, covered in migrating a server from Legacy to Enhanced.
⚙️ 6. Rolling back to Legacy
The way back follows the same path: a support request, a reinstall of the Legacy environment, and your resources put back in place. This is deliberately reversible - as long as Enhanced moves fast, a server has to be able to come home without losing anything. Keep a backup of your resources and a database dump before every switch.
⚙️ 7. Limits to know before you start
- No Asset Escrow: encrypted scripts bought on Tebex do not load. This is the main reason most production servers are still waiting.
- Frameworks need porting: ESX, QBCore and QBox require adjustments, they are not plug-and-play.
- Mumble deprecated: a new voice system replaces it, driven by server-side natives (
CreateVoiceChannel,AddPlayerToVoiceChannel…). Mumble natives still route through that new system but will be removed;setr sv_mumble truekeeps compatibility while you port your resource. - Custom assets: vehicles, MLOs and clothing must be converted for the new engine.
- Admin tooling: check your administration panel against the exact Enhanced build you install, versions move from week to week.
✅ Conclusion
Enhanced brings a genuine technical leap - 120 Hz, .NET, native ray tracing - but remains an early-access project, especially while escrow is missing. The sensible approach today: keep production on Legacy, open an Enhanced instance to port your resources, and switch once your script list is ready. The full checklist is in migrating a FiveM server from Legacy to Enhanced.
All our FiveM plans run on Legacy as well as Enhanced, with L4/L7 anti-DDoS protection included and no extra cost from one version to the other.
