Memory needs grow with factory size. 6 to 8 GB is enough early on. For a late-game factory, several players or mods, plan for 10 to 16 GB. CPU matters too: the factory simulation never stops.

6 to 8 GB to start, 10 GB for an advanced factory, 16 GB for a late-game factory or heavy mods. A fast CPU keeps the simulation smooth.

Add your server in SMM with the SFTP access, install the same mods as your profile, restart. Players need the same mods as the server.

Which plan for which factory?
A Satisfactory server's load does not depend on player count but on the factory: every machine, belt and train is simulated all the time, even when nobody is online. A late-game factory with hundreds of constructors needs more memory and a fast CPU.
